Our Flower Story.

Our founder’s story

Being brought up on a farm meant I always had a natural pull towards the outdoors and growing things was in my DNA. My earliest flower-growing lessons came from my grandad, but my professional floristry journey started with formal training at college, where I was lucky enough to be taught by two incredibly talented Dutch floral designers whose influence can still be seen in my work today.

After college, I worked in florists across West Lancashire, starting in Burscough before moving to Ormskirk and later Barton Grange Garden Centre in Preston. I then became a floristry lecturer at Myerscough College, teaching the next generation of florists and sharing the skills I’d developed over the years.

After marrying my husband Andrew (another farmer) and having my eldest son in 2006, I decided it was time for a new challenge and started my own wedding flower business. In 2011, frustrated with not being able to source the types of flowers I loved, I chose to diversify part of our family arable farm — moving away from growing potatoes, carrots and wheat and into growing flowers instead.

The British-grown, often scented and gorgeous cottage-garden style blooms were an instant hit with brides and customers looking for the relaxed, romantic countryside vibe of wild and seasonal flowers — something a little different to what you might find at a typical high street florist.

Today, I bring together everything I’ve learned from growing flowers, teaching floristry and working with thousands of customers to create flowers that feel personal, natural and completely right for the people receiving them.

Seasonal Flowers at Their Best

We’re passionate about working with flowers when they’re naturally at their best.

Trends come and go. One year everyone wants garden roses. The next it’s anthuriums and calla lilies. While we enjoy new trends, our real focus is seasonality.

The best flowers are usually the ones nature is producing right now.

Seasonal flowers are often fresher, more beautiful and better value. They’re also more sustainable and naturally suited to the time of year.

That’s why our favourite flower is usually whatever happens to be flowering this week.

A Thought on Flowers

Flowers teach you something important about life.

They don’t last forever.

Their beauty is in the fact that they’re temporary. A flower blooms, brings joy, and then fades away. That’s what makes it special.

Whether it’s a wedding bouquet, a birthday gift or a funeral tribute, flowers mark a moment in time. They remind us to appreciate the people and occasions that matter while they’re right in front of us.

And perhaps that’s why we still love working with them after all these years.

“I can't thank you enough for being so amazing throughout the whole process and for bringing my vision to life even better than I could ever have imagined. Your creativity, attention to detail, and hard work made such a difference to our day, and we are so grateful.

We will always look back on our wedding flowers with such happy memories.”
